One of my Favorite Little Restaraunts in Toronto happens to be Magic Oven, located along Toronto's very popular Danforth. They have a great selection of Organic & Vegan options as well as some really good food.
I often go there for something called the Power House Soup, a soup I've simply fallen in love with!
It's a simple soup that ussually has no more than 4 to 5 ingredients.. It hasn't always come fully loaded I guess, but it has always been, simply to die for.
Since I cant get to the Danforth as much as I'd like, and the fact that I have always been good at reversing recipes back to their original ingredients,,
I had to try out this simple Power House Soup for myself..
And ofcourse, it worked out beautifully! I've actually been making it for about a year now.
This Chick Pea & Kale Soup is so Healthy good for you, so easy, So Hearty, and so cheap!
It simply is a Must Have, Must Make Often Recipe!
It's definitely turned into one of my favorite soul foods!
A-and it happens to be super easy to adjust proportion wise.
I litterally just chop up the bunches of Veggie ingredients, throw them in the pot and cook away. It really is one of the easier recipes.
I do quite often, and purposely for that matter, make enough to last me a good 3 days. ~ Soup always has been one of those Leftover Meals that actually can get better the next day, and this is a soup I never want to see the bottom of.
Let's get that soup on..
• 3-6 Tomatoes
• Kale Bunch
• Chick Peas
• Celery Stalk &/OR Carrots
**Atleast one of these ingredients will work fine, both are great too.
• 2 "Chicken Like" or Vegatable Soup BouillionTo 4 to 8 Cups of Water
( **OR add 4 to 8 Cups of Soup Base instead of Water and Boullions )
• 2 Tablespoon Oil or Butter ~ Or Both
( I like a lot of butter.. )
• 2 Tea Spoon Tumeric ( Optional )
• Pinch or So Oregano
• Pinch or So Garlic Powder
COOKING INSTRUCTIONS :
➡️ Water, Boullions or Soup Base, Butter, Tumeric ( Optional ) = Combine In 1 Large Sauce Pot
➡️ Bring To Boil for 30 Minutes
➡️ Simmer Down 1 Hour. Add more Water if necessary.. .. Water tends to dissipate due to the effects of Steam.

• Kale = $1.50
• Tomatoes or Mini Tomatoes = $1.50 - 3.40
• Chick Peas = $1.20
• Celery ( Optional )= $1.77
• Carrots ( Optional ) = $2.40
• "Chicken Soup" Flavour 10 Cubes $3.34
Makes 1 Full Family Sized Soup Or about 3 to 8 Freezable Portions.. Depending on your appetite and how much water you use as soup base.
** Myself ~ I tend to like my soup extra Hearty some days and some days I just like a regular soup.. ..

Another trick to either feeding a lot of people on a budget, or fast notice, and also another good thing about soup is,,
If you have a solid meal for 1, you can make soup for a family.. Just add a loaf of bread and you've got enough to feed everyone.
Should you make soup for the family and end up with a party of 20,, a little of rice goes a loooong way 😘 ~ Simmer down the soup a little, add some Soya Sauce & Now your making a Stir Fry!
